Los Angeles

Los Angeles, the sunny place many dream to go to because of the industries and the glory. Los Angeles is known for the sports, celebrities, weather and more. I've been to Los Angeles when I was really little, but I don't remember much from my experience. If you were to drive to LA from Vancouver it would take around a full day of driving. Therefore, if you were to drive to LA I recommend you to plan a road trip to other destinations at the same time. You can stop at Portland to do some no tax shopping then continue on your trip. When you get there, I recommend you to stay at the Los Angeles: Sportsmen's Lodge. According to lonelyplanet's review

"Too authentically 1962 to be called 'retro', this longstanding favorite sits on a six-acre campus in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. Its 190 reasonably proportioned rooms, mostly in a five-story building, encircle palms, pines and a lushly landscaped pool, Jacuzzi and tiki-style bar."

It is also $129 a night! If you were to fly there it would be around $300, the good thing about flying to LA is that they give you many different ways to get around tow. They have a good bussing system along with taxis. It is only $5 for a day pass.

Activities
Spend a day at Venice Beach, with the great weather there you would be able to get a great tan. If you can check out their skate park. Also, they have many stores around the beach's boardwalk where you can get many different souvenirs along with unique performances.

After a long day at the beach, spend your night experience at the Fig Tree Cafe, it is right by  venice beach so you can enjoy the sunset while trying their delicious burgers. Don't want burgers and craving shrimps? Go to Killer Shrimp, located on 4211 Admiralty Way Marina del Rey, CA 90292, it is pretty close to venice beach. Afterwards check out the night clubs (if legal) . After looking at the ratings for night clubs on Virtual Tourist. It seems to me that Nikki at Venice Beach is a great club to go to.

When you go to Los Angeles, you must check out Hollywood Boulevard to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Stars like the Harry Potter family, Walt Disney, Kevin Bacon and more!

While you're walking on Hollywood Boulevard, check out the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. This building opened in 1927.

I've been to LA 3 times. It is an awesome place apart from the humid and polluted air, constant gang violence, and the long traffic jams :(
