Mexico Cancun

Mexico is a great place to get tanned, and also is a great place to go when you're on a budget. Cancun is a place i really want to go during Winter break because the weather in Vancouver would be really cold while in Mexico it remains hot. I recommend staying at a 5 star hotel because you would be at your hotel most of the time. I recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel because when you stay for 4 nights you get the forth night for free. The Hyatt hotel offers a mini bar, balcony, hair dryer, pure water system and more. If you stay at the Deluxe Ocean View room you will get a great ocean view. There isn't much to do in Cancun but they have interesting shops, like The Coral Negro. The Coral Negro sells many souvenirs where you can bring back to your friends in the horrible vancouver weather. There are many restaurants you can try, like the Bubba Gump, The Crab and Fresh Bistro. Tanned and chilled at the beach for too long? Go for a El Rey, archeologist tour. It is located near the Hotel Area in Cancun. In Downtown Cancun they have a bull fighting viewing where you can watch bulls fight. Also you can go Parasailing, if you don't know what is parasailing its where a speed boat pulls you while you're wearing a parachute.

Osoyoos BC

Osoyoos BC is probably the best place to travel during the summer if you want to travel around BC. Many people go to Osoyoos to camp and relax. There isn't much shopping and great dining places in Osoyoos. Though on Sunday's they have a flea market where they sell cute hand made items and baked goods. You can camp in RVs, or in tents, and if you really don't want to camp there are really nice hotels you can stay in, like the Walnut Beach Resort. A really great place to stay with you RV is the Walton's Lakefront RV Resort, they offer great facilities and a great area. The best time to go is during the end of our summer holiday because the hotel price is lower.
Around the resorts they have the amazing Lake Osoyoos, many of the hotels are around the Lake therefore you can tan almost everyday when you're relaxing. Around Osoyoos they have the Rattlesnake Canyon. (5502 Main St.Osoyoos, BC V0H-1V6) They have interesting rides you can go on that lasts for 5 minutes long. They have mini golf, bumper boats, go carts and more.Put on your best outfit and check out the wineries. There are many wineries around Osoyoos, check out Burrowing Owl, Spirit Ridge, and Oliver Twist.
Wanting to go Horse Back Riding? check out Osoyoos' Indian Grove Riding Stable. Its 40 dollars for a hour and half ride. The cowboys and cowgirls will take you to around the mountains, the best time to go is during sunset because you can watch the sunset from high up. They will teach you how to control the horse along with you get to choose which horse you want. If you are under 10 they offer helmets.

Los Angeles

Los Angeles, the sunny place many dream to go to because of the industries and the glory. Los Angeles is known for the sports, celebrities, weather and more. I've been to Los Angeles when I was really little, but I don't remember much from my experience. If you were to drive to LA from Vancouver it would take around a full day of driving. Therefore, if you were to drive to LA I recommend you to plan a road trip to other destinations at the same time. You can stop at Portland to do some no tax shopping then continue on your trip. When you get there, I recommend you to stay at the Los Angeles: Sportsmen's Lodge. According to lonelyplanet's review

"Too authentically 1962 to be called 'retro', this longstanding favorite sits on a six-acre campus in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. Its 190 reasonably proportioned rooms, mostly in a five-story building, encircle palms, pines and a lushly landscaped pool, Jacuzzi and tiki-style bar."

It is also $129 a night! If you were to fly there it would be around $300, the good thing about flying to LA is that they give you many different ways to get around tow. They have a good bussing system along with taxis. It is only $5 for a day pass.

Activities
Spend a day at Venice Beach, with the great weather there you would be able to get a great tan. If you can check out their skate park. Also, they have many stores around the beach's boardwalk where you can get many different souvenirs along with unique performances.

After a long day at the beach, spend your night experience at the Fig Tree Cafe, it is right by  venice beach so you can enjoy the sunset while trying their delicious burgers. Don't want burgers and craving shrimps? Go to Killer Shrimp, located on 4211 Admiralty Way Marina del Rey, CA 90292, it is pretty close to venice beach. Afterwards check out the night clubs (if legal) . After looking at the ratings for night clubs on Virtual Tourist. It seems to me that Nikki at Venice Beach is a great club to go to.

When you go to Los Angeles, you must check out Hollywood Boulevard to check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Stars like the Harry Potter family, Walt Disney, Kevin Bacon and more!

While you're walking on Hollywood Boulevard, check out the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. This building opened in 1927.

New York City

New York City is another great place to go to anytime during the year. If you don't enjoy the cold weather, go during the summer time.

"Summer or winter, rain or shine, there's always great stuff going on in New York City, so when you're planning a trip to New York City, there's no real "best" or "worst" time to go." (Quote from : quote

I would travel to the Empire State building the first day I get there mainly because you get to see New York from a distance. the price for a youth (12-7) is $20. It also opens after 11pm so you can experience the night life. If you're visiting New York City for New Years you should celebrate at Tim Square. Not only because there would be many people there, its also because there is a huge countdown where you can celebrate with many people. There is also a Ferris Wheel inside of Toys R Us near Time Square. Don't want to check out the ferris wheel, check out the Wax Museum at (234 W 42nd St  New York, 10036, United States
(866) 841-3505) Madame Tussauds, If you buy your tickets online you get 15% off! Wax figures like, Barack Obama, the Princess, Justin Bieber and more!

Now that you've travelled a lot around Time Square, have a relaxing day at Central Park and enjoy the Zoo, and Friedsam Memorial. Central Park's Zoo is very popular in New York along with Friedsam Memorial which is a giant carousel. Of course you should visit the statue of liberty, located on Liberty Island. So many places to go shopping in New York City, there is a Abercrombie Store where instead of using mannequins they have real people modeling the clothes. Also check out the M&M world, where you can purchase most of your souvenirs for your friends and family.

I recommend you to stay at the Hilton New York Hotel because you would be around the main part of town so transportation and traveling would be a lot easier (one night: $450)

Paris

Paris is France's city of love. With the population of almost 3 million. The best time to go to Paris is during spring, but also the most expensive. But if you're planning to go to Paris with a budget, you should go during July and August because the rates are cheaper. Instead of
always going on a budget, hopefully you're looking for a grand experience this time.
Definitely, when you go to Paris you would want to go to the Eiffel Tower, Musée du Louvre, Sacre-Coeur, Arc de Triomphe and many more.
If you want to spend a relaxing and luxurious time at a fancy hotel I recommend the Hotel du Louvre, one night is 442.00 € which is $575.00. It includes two twin bed with the Junior Suite. and can fit two people. But if you're on a tight budget i recommend the $144 Hotel Royal Phare, it is located beside the Eiffel Tower, there you will enjoy the day and night amazing scenery.  After the day of your arrival have a relaxing day shopping at the La Vallee Village Shopping Mall. It is very close to the Disneyland Paris (Video) There are many brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, 7 for all Mankind and many more. Many of these stores offers big discounts.
(Photo taken from: Photo)
After the mall or before the mall you should bring your kids or friends to Disneyland, adults are  41£ and children from 3-11 36£.

One thing I must do if I ever go to Paris is capture all the architecture and try their delicious food. If you get a tour to the Eiffel Tower it is 8 euros for the lift and 5 euros for the stairs. It will take you to the second floor where there are telescope for your to explore Paris. You should also view the Eiffel Tower at night, the view will blow your mind. Later on take a taxi across the Arc de Triomphe, where a undefined soldier who was buried. Travel to the Louvre Museum. the giant glass pyramid like building. It is closed on TUESDAY. Tickets are around 11 Euros. If you're under 18 you can go in for free.
a fancy restaurant you should try is the Maceo, there has many fancy exotic dishes to try. You can book your reservations online (here). I want to travel to Paris because I want to experience the night scenery. Looking at the photos are already breathtaking so imagine if you were there in person, along with being able to physically touch parts of the Eiffel Tower, tasting the food and experience Paris.

Sydney Australia

Sydney Australia is somewhere I would love to go there for my honeymoon because the beaches are amazing along with the weather is great. The currency in Australia is like Canada but currently one dollar australian is $1.03. Their summer time is when most people like to go to Australia because their summer time starts around December. Before going into details to Australian, you should apply for a visa (http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration/) unless you're from Australia or New Zealand.
When getting there you would probably travel by plane. The cheapest flight during Summer time would be :
somewhere you must go is Sydney's Opera House. You can sign up for a Opera English tour here. To get there you may also want to check out the bus schedules
After exploring the Opera House you should go for a nice fancy dinner at the Orso Bayside Restaurant and enjoy the water and a great seafood meal.

Australia is famous for their Kangaroos, therefore you should travel to Sydney's Taronga Zoo! With the price of $44 for an adult and $22 for child. At this zoo there are Koalas, Lemurs, elephants, kangaroos and many other exotic animals
Wanting to do something daring? Check out the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, you would be dressed in a nice blue track suit and you and a group of people would climb the bridge! There are many different types of climbs you could do. Here is the Express Climb:
For you final day in Australia you may want to take a relaxing walk at the Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens where you can view all the beautiful flowers and take in all the sun. There is a pyramid greenhouse that you must check out, the unique structure of the building is amazing.

Japan

Another place I would like to go is Japan, a cultural and beautiful place to travel to, and with the population of 126 million. Where you can try many different Japanese Cuisine food. I would recommend you to go to Tokyo because it is one of the most popular cities along with there is shopping and great dining The best time to go to Japan is during Spring because all the Cherry Blossoms are blooming along with the weather is very good. Their money currency isn't like Canada's, its Yen. Where one dollar is around 82 Yen. You may also want to pick up a Japanese Dictionary so you can interact with other citizens.

I've always wanted to go to Japan because I would love to try their dishes, especially sushi. A very popular sushi place in Tokyo is the "Nishiazabu Taku" it is open till 2 am so if you have jet lag check out Nishiazabu Taku for a midnight snack.
Ramen is also a very popular type of food in Japan. It is like noodles but with a unique type of soup. In Tokyo there is a place named Tokyo Ramen Street where it is located in the First Avenue Tokyo. There are many Ramen shops around the area.

Yukon

Yukon, the cold and quiet part of Canada with the population around 34,000. It's is straight north from British Columbia and one of the territories in Canada. The Yukon is famous for their scenery, culture and outdoor activities. If you want to go shopping, the Yukon probably isn't the best place to go. Yukon is one place I would love to go because I love how everything is nature there, along with the northern lights during Winter. The best time to go to the Yukon is during Late Spring, the weather is amazing with the temperature is not so cold or not so hot. In the Yukon there isn't an airport where you can go from Whitehorse( Capital City ) to somewhere else in Asia. There is only a few planes going to Vancouver and Calgary, other than that if you're not from Vancouver or Calgary you would have connect flights from Vancouver or Calgary's International Airport. Tickets are around $500 round trip from Vancouver to Whitehorse. You probably shouldn't upgrade your seats because it is a short flight.
flights with Air North around May 2012

If you're on a tight budget you should stay at the Stop in Family Hotel($89/a night)  located in behind Whitehorse's Superstore on Ray Street.

Adventures you should go on!

Blog Assignment 3

Blogger:
When making this blog I found it pretty easy because I made a blog on blogger before, along with the instructions were pretty straightforward. Though it gets a bit confusing when designing my blog because there is so much to choose from. It didn't have any instructions for me to go through (video). You can set your blog on private along with setting it where it z on the blogger's listing and you can turn off the search engine. For comments you can choose who can comment (Everyone, Google Accounts, Registered user, and Only members of blog). You can also choose if you want to moderate the comments. My comments are currently on moderation, which means the comment goes through me before it gets published on to the site. This is my favorite blog to use because I like how everything is set up very clean and organize; along with it is really straight forward.

WordPress:
Wordpress has straightforward instructions to make the blog, except it gets a bit complicated after you get the structure of the blog. So where you design the blog and make it pretty, mainly because there are too many options.  You can’t control who sees your blog and you can remove it from the search engine. You have an option where you must have someone who has an account can comment. Whenever someone comments you can have the notification send to you. I don’t like Wordpress because I find it really complex when it comes to designing the blog.

Edublog:
Edublog is very similar to Wordpress; the instructions were pretty straightforward. The layout when it comes to designing is really similar to Wordpress. Though you can also lock your blog and out a custom password so you can give certain access to certain people. You can control who sees your blog from blocking search engines, registered user, to everyone. It was pretty basic and simple when creating the structure, like creating a theme, you had a few to choose from which I don’t like because I like to have a really unique blog. It’s a bit frustrated because there are many tabs and you would have to click on many to get what you want. You can control who comments can get publish because they go through an approval through you.

Out of all the blogs, I would choose Blogger to make my blog because I find it more simple along with I've made a blog on here before. Also, the other two blogs (Edublog, and Wordpress) both have the same layout but a bit complicated for me. I would choose Blogger for a student at this point because I find it a lot easier to use, and less complicated. If I had to tell students to make a blog on Blogger, I would tell them to just pick a theme then later on when you settled everything start adding widgets because you want to have a solid nice base before complicating everything. I found making a blog really simple because I'm very good with technology, following instruction were more of a backup for me than following step by step.
